South Asia Regional Initiative for Energy Integration (SARI/EI) Looking Back to Move Forward: Celebrating 22 Years of Energy Cooperation & Integration in South Asia

  15th September 2022, delhi

The SARI/EI (South Asia Regional Initiative in Energy Integration) program of USAID, implemented by Integrated Research and Action for Development (IRADe), a leading South Asian Think Tank and United States Energy Association (USEA), a U.S. based non-profit organization, is inching towards the finale marking 10 successful years with several achievements including doubling of cross-border power trade in the region. It will also draw curtains to the 22 years long-running initiative of USAID.

To celebrate the journey of the program and its transition to USAID’s South Asia Regional Energy Partnership (SAREP), we are organising a Regional Conference “Looking Back to Move Forward: 22 years of regional energy cooperation and integration” on 15th-16th September at Hotel Lalit in New Delhi. Honourable Minister Shri R.K. Singh, Ministry of Power, Government of India has been invited to inaugurate the conference. Shri. Krishan Pal, Minister of State for Power, Government of India has confirmed his presence for the event.

The regional conference will bring together South Asian stakeholders and international experts to celebrate the many successes, share lessons learned, and deliberate on important themes such as the role of cross-border power trade in the clean energy transition, regional power markets in South Asia, power of data, and some emerging technologies and issues in the energy sector.

You can also join us virtually at the SARI/EI Regional Conference. Please find attached the tentative agenda for your reference.
