Integrated Research and Action for Development (IRADe) is a fully autonomous, non-profit advanced research institute, which conducts multidisciplinary research, policy analysis, action programmes and is a hub of network among various stakeholders. Established in 2002, the institute is recognized as a R&D organization by DSIR, Ministry of Science & Technology. It is also recognized as a Centre of Excellence by the Ministry of Urban Development for Cities & Climate Adaptation. IRADe’s research covers many areas including Energy & Power Systems, Urban Development, Climate Change & Environment, Poverty Alleviation & Gender, Food Security & Agriculture, as well as the policies that affect these areas. IRADe has collaborators and projects with well-known international organizations, networks the government, ministries/ departments, public & private sectors engaging academic experts, NGOs, and consultants.
IRADe, a regional energy think tank, has made considerable contributions in several fields and is guided by Executive Director, Dr. Jyoti Parikh (Member of the Prime Minister’s Council on Climate Change, India) who is a recipient of Nobel Peace Prize awarded to IPCC authors in 2007 and Chairman, Dr. Kirit Parikh, a Padma Bhushan Awardee and former member of Planning Commission, Government of India who is widely recognized as the architect of India’s Integrated Energy Policy Committee.
