Currently Mr. Rajbhandari heads the Project Management Directorate (PMD) of NEA in the capacity of DMD. The PMD is responsible for implementing, monitoring and coordinating ADB, EIB and Government of Norway funded projects in Nepal Electricity Authority. These donor agencies are funding development of generation, transmission and distribution infrastructures. Some of the important projects currently under implementation are: Kaligandaki Transmission Corridor, Marsyangdi Transmission Corridor, Tamakosi Kathmandu 400 kV Transmission Link, Distribution Reinforcement and Expansion in the Eastern, Central and Western Regions of Nepal, Detail Design of Dudhkosi Storage Hydroelectric Project and Nepal India Second Cross Border EHV Transmission Link. Mr. Rajbhandari has been contributing to the transmission system interconnection studies and policy development as member from Nepal for Task Force 2: Advancement of Transmission System Interconnection under SARI/EI.
Mr. Rajbhandari was responsible for developing periodic corporate plans and business for NEA before undertaking the current responsibility. His past experiences include construction of various transmission lines project in the capacity of Project Managers, development of transmission system expansion and reinforcement plan and human resource development plan.
Mr. Rajbhandari holds B. Tech. in Electrical Engineering and M. Eng. in Energy Policy and Planning.
