Mr Subhajit Kumar Ray is Technical Specialist of Integrated Research and Action for Development (IRADe), New Delhi. He is presently working in the South Asian Regional Initiative for Energy Integration ( SARI/EI) Project funded by USAID with IRADe as the implementing partner. The project goal is to advance regional energy integration and increase cross border electricity trade. He provides technical inputs to the project and activities like conducting an Mock Exercise for South Asian Regional Power Exchange ( SARPEX) have been initiated under his supervision.
He had twenty five years’ experience in the power sector. He has served in NTPC Ltd for over eighteen years in various fields like O&M, commercial and operation services. He has been involved in regulatory matters in NTPC since the inception of CERC. He also has experience of various power trading related fields like tariffs, grid coordination, customer interface etc. He has also worked in Gulf Cooperation Council Interconnection Authority (GCCIA) for more than three years where he played a pivotal role in setting up of the market operation department and framing and implementing related system and procedures.
He obtained his Bachelor’s degree with distinction in Electrical Engineering from Government Engineering College Jabalpur in 1990 and was ranked third in merit list of the University.
